Analogous to terranean dogs, the dilev is an animal the Tsabhua have been working with for thousands of years. Smaller than their wild counterparts, the keldia, the dilev has become much friendlier, more protective, and easier to train. They are used as herders, guardians, and simply companions, being intuitive to the needs of their owner. Many tribes and colonies have at least one, and a number of them keep an entire pack for hunting purposes, as they are adept at working together to bring down larger prey. The dilev does not do well alone, and needs companionship as much as it gives it. Much like the Tsabhua, the dilev has a pharyngeal jaw, used to tear at prey clamped in their viselike outer jaws. Both pairs of forelegs are used to grip prey, though the first pair is nearly vestigial at this point. Despite their ferocity, dilev are capable of being very gentle, and can be quite protective of whelps they see as being under their care.
