Colonists with this mutation have a tail that is significantly longer than others of its species. The maximum is double its body length.
The biggest difference between Tadpole Tail and Rudder tail is that Rudder Tail usually takes up a good portion of the tail and has spiny protrusions along the finlike flesh.

Colonists with this mutation have a tail visibly shorter than normal members of their species. This cannot be so short that it looks like a bob-tail.

The biggest difference between Tadpole Tail and Rudder tail is that Tadpole Tail usually has less of the tail affected by the mutation and never has any spines as part of the mutation.
