Researching the gene Seychellois

This was boring, Thomas thought as he sat patiently waiting for Kel and Kya to convince Shasta to give up some of her fur to science.  What was the big deal any way?  It was just fur.  He started to draw in the dirt.  He could hear the others talking. It was mostly Kya doing the talking but Kel would try to help by injecting his own argument in once in a while.    Shasta didn't see why she had to give up her fur.  She like her fur very much. 

Thomas had a thought go through his mind.  How were they going to get the fur?   Were they going to just yank it out?  Maybe there was a better way.  He turned and ran into the scientist building.  He had seen one of the scientist use a tool that cut things.  As he ran passed rooms he quickly glanced inside.  Nope not that one.  Maybe this one.  Ah there they were.  The scientist had his back to the door and Thomas crept into the room and gently and quietly took the scissors of the table and then ran as fast as he could to the three still arguing adults.  A pair of scissors dangled from his mouth. 

"Here." He said as he spat them out at Kya's feet. "these should help."  He turned to Shasta and opened his eyes wide to try to make himself look cute. "We don't need much.  Just a little tiny piece.  We can use these to cut it out so it won't even hurt."

It must of worked.  Shasta took a long sigh "All right.  But just a little.  And take it from where no one will see. "
