In the heart of L'hatzif, where the Mushroom Forest meets the tranquil swamps, Koi and Empress laid in the sun. Bloo had left a while ago, saying something about resources, and left the whelps alone in the camp, with very specific instructions not to wander off again. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting hues of pink and gold across the landscape, the duo had long been tired of running around playing with eachother, untill they spotted a friend hiding in the bushes.
"Twinkle!" Koi called out, excited to see the strange whelp again. Twinkle perked up, and quickly ran over to the two. The whelps excitedly greeted each other. "Hey you guys!" Twinkle said, "Isn't it boring laying around here all day? I could never imagine, not being allowed to wander off." The colony whelps both rolled their eyes "I mean, it is" Koi started, "But Bloo takes care of us! So we don't have to worry about anything" Empress finished for her sister.
Twinkle nodded along "I suppose so." she seemed to think of something "But that also means you guys never find anything cool! I have a bunch of treasure in my cave, you should come check it out." Koi and Empress exchanged a glance- "I mean we're not-" Empress started, quickly interrupted by Koi "That sounds so cool! I wanna see!"
As it turns out, Twinkle really didn't live far away, and it was only a short walk before the trio were all hidden in Twinkle's cave. It was, indeed, filled with many treasures. Empress's curious glance instantly landed on a book- The book's cover, adorned with symbols unfamiliar to the whelps, hinted at an age long past. Empress was sure its weathered pages spoke of untold stories, secrets waiting to be unravelled.
"Ah, you found the book," Twinkle chimed "I've been keeping it safe for quite some time." Empress looked at her, interested "So do you know what it says?" she sounded very hopeful, and deflates at Twinkle's answer "Ah, sorry but no. Ive never quite been able to understand it myself, sadly."
Twinkle beckoned them closer, the old book lay upon a makeshift shelf, guarded by the moist ambiance of the cave. "I found this book during one of my explorations," Twinkle explained, her voice a gentle melody. The whelps, wide-eyed with intrigue, stared at the seemingly ancient pages. Koi tentatively reached out a paw to touch the delicate paper, her fur bristling with excitement. Empress, always composed, tilted her head, eager to unravel the mysteries within. Twinkle chuckled at the two "See? I can't imagine just sitting around all day untill Im old enough to explore by myself, I would never find cool things like this if I did."
Twinkle took the book off the shelf, huddling closer to the sisters. As she started to flip through the pages, the contents remained a cryptic puzzle to the whelps. The symbols, which might as well have been a language lost to time, danced across the yellowed, damp, parchment. Koi, with her boundless imagination, proposed the first theory.
"Maybe it's a map to hidden treasures!" she exclaimed, her eyes gleaming with the prospect of adventure.
Empress rolled her eyes, not surprised by Koi's imaginative mind, "Or perhaps it holds the wisdom of ancient sages, guiding us to a deeper understanding of our roots."
Twinkle, observing the whelps' theories, added her own insight. "It could be a tale of a brave belemoid who travelled around helping others in need!."
The trio, surrounded by the gentle echo of water droplets, continued to weave tales and theories about the mysterious book.
As night approached, Koi shot up "Ah no! Bloo is bound to be back by now, we weren't supposed to wander off!" Empress, who usually wouldn't have forgotten such things scrambled up as fast as she could. "Im so sorry Twinkle, but we really ought to leave! We've been out way too long." Twinkle rolled her eyes at the other two, getting up herself, "let me walk you two home then." she picked up the book, handing it to Empress "Here you go! You can keep it." the whelp gasped in amazement "Are you sure Twinkle?" Twinkle nodded "Ive got plenty other treasures here after all. Let's get you two home."
