Diminish chuckled as Drift told her the story about Rip.

"She followed you around all that time, just to ask about your parents?"

"I know right? I couldn't believe it at first either. But she seemed happy as a clam when I left." Drift snorted, taking another sip out of her cup.

The two were sat together at a wooden table in the colony's clearing, enjoying the sunlight. It was a quiet day, birds peacefully chirping in the distance while their fellow colonists wandered around. Drift and Diminish both had the day off of work duties, and had decided to catch up. Both had been busy before, trying their best to prepare for the changing seasons along with the rest of the colony. The season had turned out rather mild though, so the work quickly calmed down.

"It was such a silly situation. I was so confused about why she'd been following me around, and at the end it was just to ask about those silly little half-moons on my coat." drift chuckled. It hadn't been very funny at first- she had been quite scared to have someone following her around- but looking back on it now, the situation definitely had a hint of humour in it.

As they were chatting, Drift spotted the familiar Tsabhua across the clearing, coming out of a building. The two locked eyes, and Drift saw some excitement on Rip's face as she started speed walking across the clearing.

"Here she comes, actually. Be nice- she's awkward, but she doesn't mean harm." Drift said.

"Drift!" Rip called out as soon as she got within earshot. "I've got exciting news!"

Rip pulled out an official-looking letter, showing it to the Tark'ee. "I'm getting an upgrade! Which means I'll actually be able to scan your DNA and-"

Drift raised an eyebrow "Now hold on, I'm not entirely sure if I'm comfortable with that, Rip."

Rip's smile fell off of her face instantly. "Oh- yea that's fair. I'm sorry, I hadn't thought about that yet... I'll have to find someone else then.

Diminish eyed Rip, intrigued. "Scan someone's DNA? That sounds interesting."

Rip nodded excitedly. "I told Bloo that I might be able to find genetic conditions so we can treat Xunari before they show symptoms, and he seemed excited! So he's upgrading my office and my equipment."

Diminish nodded along. "Congratulations! And by all means, let me know if you need volunteers."

Rip couldn't quite hide the excitement in her face. "I definitely do! You guys are the first I've told so ah- no volunteers yet." She chuckled, looking at Diminish and Drift. "You guys are welcome for a tour whenever! I'd love to show you around sometime."

Drift nodded. "I'll have to take you up on that. It seems very exciting, I'd definitely like to come check it out."

Diminish nodded in agreement. "Not often that we get cool upgrades like this in the colony. That stuff's expensive, I'm excited to see out funds going to something like this."
