Unsure how she got saddled up with whelp-sitting *again*, Woodland once again found herself in the fields of Mireh. Scavenger, who had seemed very insistent on visiting Mireh if he was going to have to be watched by a stranger, has been darting off in any directions she could manage all day.
While she wasn't necessarily mad at the whelp (she didn't really find it in herself to get mad about whelps being whelps), she did greatly regret taking some of her own colony's whelps along for the trip as well. Three whelps, one of which insistent on breaking off from the group, was a handful after all.
Snap, Witness, and Imagine were all less of a handful, likely partially because they already knew Woodland- and wouldn't want to get on her bad side, since they would likely spend a good chunk of their life around her.
"What are we looking for today, Woodland?" Snap asked. While the other whelps were mostly playing, Snap must have overheard Woodland say she was hoping to forage a few things before heading back home. Woodland was a bit taken aback at the question- she had hoped that Snap would play with the other whelps a bit instead of working.
"Hmm? Oh, well just some berries and other fruit... Maybe some Ginkgo if I can find any. But you shouldn't be worrying about any of that- it's a nice day, don't you want to play with your friends?" Woodland said, hoping to redirect Snap to the other whelps. Witness and Scavenger, and Imagine were off in the distance, just close enough for Woodland to feel comfortable.
"Hmm? They seem to be having fun without me, and I don't mind helping out."
Woodland shook her head. "Trust me, you're going to regret not spending this time with your friends when you're all grown. I can handle the foraging."
Snap gave her a hesitant look. "I mean, I don't really know Imagine or Witness..."
Woodland softly shrugged, while looking out over the other playing whelps. They seemed to be running back towards her and Snap now- which was nice, because she was sure she had spotted a Ginkgo tree- if she could redirect the whelps towards it, she could easily grab some leaves.
"If you're sure you don't want to play, I found these strawberries earlier- could you go give them to the others? I'm sure they'd like a snack by now."
Snap seemed hesitant- Woodland wasn't surprised at this, seeing that it was not the task he had asked for, but he grabbed the bag of strawberries anyways, wandering off to meet the other whelps.
Woodland watched from a distance as the other whelps quickly ran to him as soon as they saw him approach with the bag, likely curious about what he had to offer, and then gratefully started munching on the snacks.
Snap tried to pull away as he handed the bag over, but Imagine grabbed him by the arm and pulled him back into the group. Didn't look like he was going to get the opportunity to leave again.
"Stay a little!" Imagine called out, grabbing Snap by the arm. "You haven't played with us all day!"
Snap seemed hesitant. He didn't really want to play with the other whelps, but they did seem to want his attention. "Hmmm... I can stay for a little while, I guess."
Witness and Scavenger cheered. "You can chase us then! Imagine complained she was getting tired- we're way faster than her!" Scavenger said excitedly, quickly backed up by Witness "I think she's jealous of us for being so fast! Maybe if you chase us you can actually catch us."
