Seymore had been, quite understandably so, pissed when the diplomacy party returned. After Scorpius had been dragged into his office by Crack, just after Morgain and Carus had went ahead and explained what had happened. The five now stood together, a fuming Seymore standing before them.
"Why-" Seymore started, voice rising with each word, "would you- or anyone in the right mind, say that?"
Scorpius just shrugged, staring pointedly at a cabinet in the corner. He didn't have much to say, in all honesty. He had said what he wanted to say, and was quietly wondering if he was really such a bad person for doing so. The group in the room certainly seemed to think so- even Carus, who was usually more blunt himself, was giving him an angry look from where he stood. Morgain hadn't really said anything since they arrived, looking pointedly ahead of him- it made sense, with him disliking confrontation to begin with.
Scorpius didn't say much, instead just rolling his eyes at Seymore's scolding. He honestly didn't have the time for this- the walk back had been long and awkward, and he deserved to rest after it, didn't he? He sighed, annoyed, at Seymore went on.
"Are you even listening?!" Seymore called out, to which Scorpius rolled his eyes. "Yea, yea, I messed up. Can I go now..?"
"Ugh! I can't believe you!" Morgain snapped, his anger taking hold of him. "We're glad they were so chill about it- what would we have done if they had been mad, Scorpius?"
"Well, they didn't though." the slate tsabhua responded, more bored than anything. "We could've fought them off, it would've been fine- you guys are being so dramatic."
"Dramatic?!" Crack seemed appalled at the reply. "You're a fool if you think we could have fought them off, Scorpius. There were only four of us, and many, many more of them. We would have been outnumbered."
"And they could still decide that your comments weren't acceptable." Carus added. "We'll likely have to figure out how to repair the damage you've done, if we can at all."
"Yes." Seymore said, looking glad that at least someone managed to get the struggle he was about to face. "It's not going to be easy either- it took us quite a bit to get on the good side of that specific tribe in the first place- who knows what it'll take to restore that relationship."
"Well, that's not *my* problem. I'm not the one in charge of diplomacy- maybe you should just be doing your job better, then." Scorpius said, picking up a trinket from Seymore's desk and inspecting it, before roughly setting it back down.
"Don't touch that-" Seymore said, hurriedly brushing the other Tsab's hands away. "You really don't get it, do you? This isn't something you will just get away with. Consider yourself indebted to everyone in this room- including me and that poor tribe leader you bothered."
Scorpius rolled his eyes, opening his mouth to reply, but was cut off once again by Seymore.
"How Crack, Morgain, and Carus want to cash in that debt is up to them, so long as it's all reasonable I'll let them do whatever. You put them and their lives at risk by running your mouth, and they deserve to be compensated for that. As for me- a good start would be to start writing an apology letter to that tribe leader. A sincere one, Scorpius."
Scorpius sighed as the other three Xunari thanked Seymore and filed out of the room. Seymore shoved him a simple pen and paper. This was bound to be a long day.
A few hours later Scorpius set the pen down. He had managed to struggle trough what Seymore could agree was a "sincere apology letter". Seymore had glared at him throughout writing it, occasionally telling him to keep writing until the resulting letter was about three pages long. After that, he had picked up the paper and started reading it.
"Hmm. I suppose it'll do. You can come back tomorrow to turn this draft into a proper letter, there's quite a few grammatical mistakes in here." Seymore opened the door to his office. He was sure that Scorpius would try to hide tomorrow- but that was a problem for later.
