Applicator Philter of Dapple

This item applies da to a colonist's genome via design update.

Expressed Genes:
Dapple: da da
Carried Genes:
Dapple: Da da

The dapple gene resembles the dark shadows with patches of the base coat across the bodies of dappled horses. The spots are numerous and irregular in both shape and size, appearing to cover most other marking in low opacity, as if an eraser was taken gently to a charcoal drawing. It is not a true white-spotting gene, it lightens the coat but would not, for instance, bring a black colonist's fur up to white unless the dappling occurs over a light marking.

Dappling is generally most visible across the dorsal part of the body and the neck, whereas it fades completely into the base coat closer to the head and the extremities. The dapple's shadow can be varied in intensity across the affected portion and should not be confused for sable, which does not have holes.

An option for dapple is to have it affect the edges of a single marking to give it a rough mixture of mapping and ticking. These should be large, rough shapes and not perfect circles.
