Applicator Philter of Stripe

This item applies Zeb to a colonist's genome via design update.

Expressed Genes:
Dominant Stripe: Zeb Zeb
Stripe: Zeb zeb

Stripe is a variable marking that forms dark stripes across the body. It is darker than any marking it is above, though it can change colour dependent on the colour below it. Stripe is one of the only markings that can show faintly through white spotting genes (ghosting.) Stripes are generally thicker than those of dun but thinner than what Banded can be.

For non-dominant Stripe, no more than 30% of the body should be covered in stripes while dominant stripe should cover more than 50%.

The ranges are loose and are up to interpretation. The stripe gene has incomplete dominance, meaning when it is homozygous (Zeb Zeb), it shows a lot more than heterozygous (Zeb zeb).

The examples below show both MINIMUM stripe and DOMINANT stripe - it is pretty obvious which is which.

Marking Interactions

Stripe
When in the presence of the Marozi gene, entirely closed stripes can take on an inner colour (the rosette inner colour). This is called "Rosette Stripe". This only available in completely closed stripes.
