Drusk has been tasked with leading the Advanced Recon and Sciences Devision for finding and training new species for covert operations. His main mission is to test and evaluate the viability of the local sentient species of a planet and report back on his findings. Drusk has been enlisted for over 40 years, his days of active combat are coming to an end, and has opted for the R&D side of things hence his willingness to be shipped to the far end of his race's influence for an off the books mission to find new ways to prevent and protect his people from potential threats.
