Yu was left alone at an early age to fend for herself in the boggy swamp areas alongside her tribe members. Her tribe lived within the fungal forest making different poisons and ingredients out of the various plantations that grew there. She worked beside the many farmers during the night to gather the fungus when it was still ripe and blooming. This reminded her of her mother when she was at shroom-shroom noodle soup whenever the air of the swamp got thick, while the fog built up even more than usual.

At the age of 15, she was given a blade of her own to defend herself when venturing the forest with the other farmers outside of camp. She trained day in and day out with the various warriors in the camp defending the grounds. Before everyone left, a silent prayer was done before the farmers went to get more shrooms and fungal treatments for the doctors and some for the household pantries. A few farmers felt bad for poor Yu, some didn't care for her mere existence and found her bothersome. Whether they liked it or not, she was to stay with them as a learning experience due to her family being deceased in the last invasion.

That is when she found out new tribes came and sought the same things within the fungal forest, the medications and resources that the fungal and swampy forest brings called trouble to come and over-gather their resources. Yu tried to make them stand down and flee, but that ended up making her a mere slave to their bidding. Being one of the few tribes outside the city, it was said that your tribe could communicate with the animals of the swamp, befriending them and becoming allies in the forest to protect the fungus, the swamp, and the inhabitants there away from the people of the city.
