Matter was- quite used to Howl saying strange things. The grey Tsabhua, while not *really* a whelp anymore still quite had an active imagination, and this paired with an odd sense of humour meant that Matter often didn't think anything when the younger Xunari talked about the strange noises she had heard coming from the odd bunker-like doors the colonists had found earlier. It wasn't until later, when Woodland mentioned it to her, that she realized Howl might be onto something. The days in the clinic had been slow- the colony had been busy tending to their crops, and as such, there was not a lot of room to tumble down a mineshaft.

During these sunny days, it would be plenty to have one physician at the clinic which meant that Matter didn't feel too bad about abandoning her post. She had asked Howl to show her the way to this bunker a few days earlier, and today she had left her tools all tidied up to go for a hopefully relaxing walk to the bunker. Matter felt pretty confident that nothing bad would happen, after all the bunker was likely just a random structure abandoned long ago... Right?

Howl had been more than excited to take her to the bunker, rambling the entire way, but even Howl got quiet as they approached, climbing over rocks.

"It's ah- kinda eerie here, don't ya think?" she offered up in the silence. Matter nodded thoughtfully, looking at the bunker doors. She took a few steps back, admiring the structure as a whole from the shadows of one of the mushrooms looming overhead as she did. It was odd, those patterns on the wall... Almost like they were carvings. She chirped, catching Howl's attention as she began brushing off some debris off the walls.

"Hmm? The walls? Need a hand, Matter? Uh- not a hand I just meant-" Matter made a dismissive noise, brushing more of the debris off of the walls as she did. Wasn't the first time someone had made *that* wording mistake.

Howl seemed to catch on pretty quickly as she worked on brushing some moss off of the wall. "Hmmm, seems like carvings of some kind? I assume you already noticed." The Tsabhua frowned. "But what do they mean, then..."

Matter backed away from the walls, taking a look at the whole picture, her head tilted curiously. Howl quickly joined her, taking everything in as well. "Hmm... I suppose this is bigger than just us two, then. I don't recognise this at all but... It's clearly ah- something?" Matter nodded, sighing while turning back to the colony.

While it took her a bit to notice, Howl quickly followed behind. "Yea we should uh- probably tell Bloo about this. Let's hope we can figure this out soon! It seems exciting, doesn't it!"

Matter stayed quiet. She had a strange feeling that there was a good chance the colony would be better off with those doors locked. Things usually weren't locked away like that without proper reason, after all.
