It had been a while since Seal had last been fishing. It had been his main source of food for ages, when he was still living on his own, but now with him living in the colony, it had become a secondary concern. He had been called into Bloo's "office" a while ago though, along with Reward, Reach and (more surprisingly) Finn. The miner especially looked confused, still covered in dust and dirt, likely coming straight from the mines.

 

Bloo had given the four a kind of exhausted smile, shuffling away some trade agreements as Finn, the last colonist he had asked for, walked in. He sighed, "Thank you guys for being so quick." the four just looked at him, confused. "I ah, have something to ask you guys." Reward nodded, taking a "leader" position in the group already. "Sure, what's up?"

 

Bloo smiled at her "We made a trade deal with a colony in Mireh a while ago, for some mushrooms." Seal nodded along, not entirely sure where the conversation was going. "So, Koi planted a bunch of them in the greenhouse, to meet the quota." Reach gave Seal a look- they had all heard that some water had gotten into the greenhouse, most things in it having been too drenched to be saved.

 

Bloo saw the look on their faces, and nodded, "They were destroyed a few days ago, and there really isn't enough time to grow more."

 

Reward gave him a happy nod, "We'll get it sorted!"

Seal huffed. He wasn't sure why these four, specifically, had been chosen, but honestly he didn't quite appreciate being taken away from his usual work. He supposed he hadn't been busy anyways- likely why Bloo choose him- but still! The only good thing about this all was that Finn was there. He had been too shy to ask Finn to hang out with him more, so he supposed this was a good thing after all. He quite enjoyed spending time with her.

 

Reward was walking ahead of the group, having known where the mushrooms grew already, and was closely followed by Reach, chatting together as they walked. This left Finn and Seal at the back of the small group, with little other option than to talk with each other. "So- ah, where are you from?" Seal asked, awkwardly. Finn seemed to think a bit- "Well, my group used to live up in Mireh." she sighed, clearly not being fond of the memories "but some disagreements happened and- well, me and Twinkle kind of got left behind." Seal scoffed "That's ridiculous!" Finn nodded, sadly. "Our mum had passed earlier in the year, so there wasn't really anyone to take care of us. I guess we just got forgotten, it all happened very quickly, honestly." Seal was still appalled at her words, and it must've shown on his face because Finn quickly went on "but it's okay, honestly! Blue found us pretty quickly and took us in." 

 

They kept chatting for a while mostly about happier topics, until they head Reach and Reward giggle before calling out "we were here to gather mushrooms, lovebirds!" Finn turned beet red, stammering "U-uh we- we weren't-" she tried to hide her face away, looking at Seal for help who rolled his eyes at the teasing. "We've found more than you have so far!" now it was Reach's turn to roll her eyes. "Whatever you say!" she called back, nudging Reward "Plus! We found all the spots they were at! You just picked them!"

 

The bickering continued for a while, especially as the group was already circling back to their home. At the end of the day, though, Finn and Seal seemed to have grown more than just a little closer.
