Meuphyr was preparing himself for the day, several days prior, he had overworked to finish all his tasks so he could get a day off, finally he would have enough time to pursue a specialization, he always wanted to become a gatherer. Being in nature is very soothing for him, it would also be a good opportunity to try gardening! His researcher located a nearby tribe where he could go look for a teacher to assist him, she saw it on her holographic map and took a piece of paper and a quill to quickly sketch a map for her colonist, and so Meuphyr put his foot on the road.

The hand drawn map he was given had two focal points on it, his colony (marked "A") and the tribe (marked "B") with a line going from one to the other, he had been following the trail for a few minutes now, his eyes fixated on the drawn path, sometimes he would feel the ground beneath his feet change from grass to dirt, stone and even moss, otherwise his head was deep in following the map. Over time he decided it would be wiser to observe his surroundings as he feared he was lost, he passed three boulders that looked suspiciously alike on his journey.

In spite of his trials and tribulations he made it to the tribe, it was belemoid as far as the eye could see, Meuphyr approached a nearby one who was far away from his comrades, sunbathing on a flat rock and introduced himself, he explained how he was searching for a teacher to help him on his specialization, the belemoid advised to talk to the others and wished him good luck on his career. Meuphyr strolled around the xunari rather anxiously not knowing who to talk to, it also didn't help that they were all staring at him, curious of his reason for being there, at last he decided to pad to the last belemoid he laid eyes on, a tan male with with fawn deer like markings. He quickly introduced himself again and spelled out the motive for his visit, "I'm looking for a teacher to assist me in becoming a gatherer" He said with a crack in his voice. The tan belemoid – who's name was Satyr – humored him and said he could be of help, he'd done plenty of foraging in his life.

The two set out to travel to Mireh, as Meuphyr planned to go there and asked Satyr if he was ok with it. They walked for miles, Satyr kept chatting Meuphyr; what he did for a living, what was colony life all about and a few hundred other topics, Meuphyr wasn't much of a talker but he did answer all his questions even if the answers were very short. As the tsabhua and belemoid continued further, they noticed the grassy ground changing from dark to light and the land beginning to shrink as water circled them, several signs that they were approaching the next region, bridges started becoming more often, and the familiar mushrooms of L'Hatzif started to fade.

Once the duo reached thicker vegetation, Satyr explained which plants were good to harvest and which ones should be avoided, Meuphyr tried to explain that he was only there for fruits and berries but Satyr barred him and reinforced that this knowledge would be good for future foraging, Meuphyr obediently (and ashamedly) listened to the explanation. After some good lecturing, they finally got their hands and claws dirty, at first Satyr just stood by, studying him and intervening whenever he saw fit but after a while he got tired of staying in the sidelines and started harvesting berries too. By the end of it, both of them had their paws stained with fruit juice, they trotted along, combing the landscape for more harvesting points and came up on a big puddle of water, where they washed the colorful stains. They encountered more bushes and trees but fruits were scarce, Meuphyr was content however, he had a pouch filled with various fruits and plants, he could return home with just this and be fulfilled. And so he did, Satyr and Meuphyr chatted some more on the way back to L'Hatzif, the latter now more comfortable talking, they had full on discussions instead of questions and answers.

The empty plains of Mireh were getting left behind as the duo continued their way back, the hills descended behind them as they walked. After some more trekking through regions, the near and dear mushroom forest came into view, while they had reached their home biome, both of them were still far from their home home, Meuphyr asked if Satyr wanted to accompany him to his colony, perhaps he would enjoy that lifestyle and even want to stay for a few, Meuphyr nudged him with his tail and jokingly winked, Satyr let out a good laugh and politely refused, commenting that "colonists" sure do like to advertise their colonies, Meuphyr shrugged as if to say 'what can you do'.

Both of them walked further until they reached Satyr's tribe, Meuphyr waved him off and continued alone, following his map in reverse. He decided to not follow it exclusively, instead using his surroundings to guide himself and using the map on the side. He passed through plains with giant chanterelle like mushrooms that extended far into the sky, and he saw valleys with big herds of Shriiv grazing, making him wish he had a camera to document all the amazing sights. After witnessing more of his home region's wonders he had arrived at his colony's borders, entering his researcher's tent and reporting his adventure, Meuphyr showed his results – of which he was very proud of – and exited the tent, intent on planting them for his future garden.
