Rozwel let Lohi know that they were going to prep some things in the back and all three of the Tsidal colonists would be back with her shortly. Lohi had nodded and just sat patiently. Rozwel, Skyner, and Spalla had talked through the sedation procedure with the other colonist. "We're going to give you a quick shot and it's going to make you sleepy, but it'll just be a light sleep. We don't need to use any heavy gas or anything. This will be very quick, so we just want you to be out so it's painless for you, and then once I've determined if you have a torn ligament or not, I'll give you a reversal shot. This will help you wake up faster. You still might feel a bit weird or out of it for a bit, so I'm glad to hear that your fellow colonist is booking accommodation at the inn. You could probably travel safely, but I don't know where you're going next, so I certainly feel better knowing you'll be safely in town tonight."

"Are there any bad side effects?" Lohi had asked concernedly. "Occasionally people may experience nausea afterwards, especially if they've eaten recently, but not everyone does. And like I said, feeling really out of it and weird. You might be a little unstable on your feet- but some people wake up differently. Sometimes we get someone who wakes up with a lot of aggression and immediately tries to fight everyone, so let's hope you don't do that." Rozwel and Lohi both chuckled at the thought while Spalla and Skyner looked back and forth, not quite sure whether to be concerned for their own safety or laugh along with the grown ups.

Lohi had signed the form and now they just needed to prepare for the procedure. The back of the hospital was a bit different from the lobby. This was where the sterility that was associated with medicine and surgery started to creep into the building. There was still a window that looked out towards the walkway of town- mostly so those in the back could catch a glimpse of any potential emergencies and run out to help. The window currently showed an empty pathway which bode well for the rest of the day. Inside, machines for running tests and cabinets holding supplies lined the wall. A large table that could be raised and lowered, and even wheeled around was in the middle of it all, neighboring a wet table that had holes and a tub under it for easily washing things away.

Skyner and Spalla looked expectantly at Rozwel as to what they should do to help get ready for Lohi. "Dr. Rozwel, what are you testing for?" Spalla also asked, curious about the procedure. "Ah, I'm testing for a cranial cruciate ligament tear. I need to make sure her leg is extended and then slowly move the bone below the knee joint while holding the bone above to see if I get movement, and then do it again when the leg is flexed. If I don't get movement then the cranial cruciate ligament is likely in tact! If I do get movement, it's a pretty serious injury that could easily need surgery depending on how bad it is."

"To set up for it, I'm going to draw up this sedation liquid into my syringe and we'll have the reversal ready to do too. I'm going to do this just because it's very important to be exact so I don't want your first time trying out a syringe to be on this, but you guys can practice with the syringes on that saline bag over there if you'd like." Rozwel busied herself setting everything up while Skyner and Spalla eagerly practiced drawing saline into a syringe.

"Okay gang, are we ready to test out this ligament?" The whelps nodded and carried Rozwel's supplies into the room while Rozwel grabbed a plush quilt. The belemoid laid lit the plush quilt on the floor so Lohi wouldn't need to move much and could still be comfortable as she fell asleep. "Lohi, are you ready?" Rozwel asked the tsab. She'd steeled herself while the Tsidal colonists had prepped for the test and she was ready. Lohi laid down on the quilt- which was cozy. Rozwel administered the sleepy shot and they all made light chatter as Lohi drifted off to sleep.

Rozwel went about her test while Skyner and Spalla watched and took notes. Eventually Rozwel decided that thankfully the ligament was not ruptured. It was just a very severe bruising of the muscle. Lohi would be pleased that she did not need surgery when she woke up. "I'll stay and watch over Lohi while she wakes up. I've got to give her this reversal shot. Can the two of you please put together this medication for me to send home with her?" Rozwel gave the assistants the instructions and sat peacefully with Lohi, ready to give her the good news.
