Rozwel looked out the window and happened to see a group of colonists practically staggering her way. The sun was shining brightly on the ocean colony, dotting the sandy landscape in warm orange rays. The colony was still in the process of being built on their new beach home and various metallic structures rose to meet the skyline, in different states of completion. The waves rolled in, off to the right, seafoam lazily disappearing as it washed up on the sand, and Rozwel had to admit that this new view was superior to the old swamps. She shook her head and called back to Surena. "You wanted a chance to learn about healing- well we're about to be busy today." The small orange Tark'ee scrabbled up a stool to be able to look out the window and see what the doctor was looking at. She saw Merra, Devo, and Lairi hobbling towards the medic building doors. The group had been out on a few hunting missions and had apparently found trouble along the way.

Rozwel turned to nod at Surena, pleased she was taking an active interest in healing. "If you remember where I showed you the bandages are, grab a roll, and also the sterile water, and a tray. I have a feeling we're going to need to flush and bandage a wound." Surena's ears flicked. "On it! How can you tell what we're going to need though, they're not even in the door." Rozwel nodded at the young Tark'ee as they headed towards the door to the lobby to greet their patients. "Experience, and knowing that wounds left by animals often need flushing." The belemoid doctor stepped away, trusting her young assistant to complete the tasks given to her.

Surena set to her task of getting the supplies ready and found the bandages. They were next to gauze, so she got that out too- just in case. She hoped Rozwel would be pleased with her initiative. She set out the sterile water and tray as directed, and looked around the room, wondering what else she should grab.

While her assistant readied the back, Rozwel stepped up front to greet the hunters. "Come in, come in. What's happened to all of you?" Lairi spoke up "I'm just here escorting them. I'm not injured, but Merra and Devo got trampled by some hojenst, and Devo also got a tooth to the shoulder, so he's having some trouble walking." Devo had indeed collapsed on the ground as soon as they'd made it in, and was panting painfully. Merra scowled at nothing in particular- possibly an imaginary hojenst. "I'm getting too old to be chasing cattle up and down the hills. I didn't quite manage to dodge out of the way of one that changed direction suddenly. But you should see Devo first, he's more injured."

Rozwel nodded in agreement. "Thank you for bringing them in Lairi." The younger Tsabhua nodded at Rozwel and turned to make her exit, but was stopped by Merra, who asked her to stay and keep her company in the waiting room. "Alright Devo, I'm going to grab a wheeled table and we're going to wheel you to the back so you don't need to move. All good with you?" Rozwel began attending her first patient. Devo nodded. Merra dutifully took her seat in one of the waiting room chairs along with Lairi.

Rozwel hurried to the back and was happy to see Surena had completed setting up. "Help me grab that wheeled table, we're going to fetch Devo." Surena nodded and along with Rozwel, bushed the table out to the lobby. They helped Devo climb on and he sank gratefully onto the table. Indeed, both Tark'ee could see the wound on his shoulder, and the general soreness with which he moved. Though her eyes were untrained, Surena could still make out the stomach churning green ooze on his shoulder. Rozwel's eyes found the same spot and she explained "it may already be infected. Those hojenst can be nasty, and bacteria is everywhere. It doesn't take too long for a bad wound to form."

As Rozwel and Surena made sure Devo was set up in the back, Rozwel gave further instructions to her assistant. "Please take these pills out to the lobby with some water for Merra. They're for pain and inflammation and will help her while I focus on Devo." Serena happily trotted out to the lobby and gave the pills to Merra. Lairi smiled at the young Tark'ee. "Thank you for helping them! You're an awesome assistant." Surena beamed at the complement, and hurried back to help the doctor.

Merra chuckled at the sight of the scampering Tark'ee and leaned over to her niece. "The future of our colony is bright. I know I don't always say it, but you youngsters have good heads on your shoulders, and I know you're going to do great things."
