Reckon sighed, stretching out her sore limbs as she set out for another day of hunting Nukap. The colony had gotten reports of a golden-pelted Nukap roaming nearby, and Reckon had instantly taken it as a challenge. If it was anything like how it was described, it's pelt would fetch a pretty penny on the market.
Reach, however, had rolled her eyes at the rumours. "Such Nukap don't exist." She said, her tone hinting that this might turn into a scolding. "You shouldn't believe just anything people tell you."
Reckon had rolled her eyes, and asked Reach if she wanted to come along. At that, the Tsabhua had huffed and said "Of course I want to come along."
Koi had seemed interested too. Even though the other Tsabhua wasn't keen on hunting, she had been enjoying having something to do that wasn't just working with plants all day. Reckon couldn't judge her- her job seemed awfully bland.
"What's that?" Koi said after a few minutes of walking. Reckon looked where she had pointed, where a small tuft of shining yellow fur clung to some brambles.
She squealed in excitement. "See? I told you the golden Nukap exists!"
Her companions looked at each other. They hadn't really realized how important this had been to the Tark'ee.
"Do you see any tracks nearby?" Koi asked, surveying the area as Reach walked over to inspect the fur with Reckon.
"Hmmm... I don't see any hoofprints, but it might've been a while since it came trough here." Reckon muttered thoughtfully." it must've gone that way, though," she said, pointing at a glistening lake in the distance, "if it went the other way it's fur wouldn't have gotten caught."
Koi nodded. "Good job figuring it out! Let's see if it's still nearby then."
They walked over to the lake. A group of Nukap did seem to be rooting around in the dirt there, but most of them seemed young, likely barely having been kicked out by their mother to fend for themselves. None of them had the golden pelt that Reckon was looking for though, and as such they moved on.
As they moved around the lake, making sure to check around it in case the Nukap had walked around it before leaving, Reach noticed something rustle in the bushes. "Over there, Reckon!" she pointed.
Reach instantly had her bow drawn. Reckon shot away from the group, throwing herself at the rustling thing in the bush. Koi mostly stood there, holding her breath. She wasn't quite used to all this action yet, and wasn't as quick to move as the other two were.
From the sound of it, it was clearly a Nukap. And one that was giving Reckon a run for her money at that. Reach looked at Koi nervously- neither felt confident stepping in, and both knew that Reckon was very capable by herself, and likely didn't need them stepping in. Still, it was a tense moment as they watched the struggle in the shrubs until Reckon called out. "I've got it!"

Hunting Nukap V
Leaving this on an awkward ending so I can continue it based on what RNG spits out in regards to loot drops... if it spits out a golden carcass at me she catches the Nukap she's been looking for, otherwise it's just a regular brown one, lol... Reckon's fate is in your hands, almighty RNG.
