Orion tapped her claw into the grassy path below her paws, as she impatiently waited - the tsabhua was waiting for a native belemoid known as Sandquill. Orion had not met this native before, at least that she could recall, but it was apparently a necessary part of her training to become a farmer. Something about the colony wanting her to have official training, even though she had been farming for Wayward Station for a while now. However, even if Orion grumbled about it, she would never go against the greater wishes of the entire colony. And so, here she was, waiting in the pouring rain for Sandquill. It was late-Geshem and the tropical storms were finally dying off but it seemed that today they were going to be graced with a late-season storm. Warm air swirled around, lifting the leaves off the ground that were slowly beginning to fall off of the trees that littered the Mireh scenery. Mireh was a tranquil and pretty region, at least to Orion - she chose to frequent the area as she enjoyed the aromas of the varying berries and fruits that sat upon the bushes and hung from the trees. Bright colors of purples, blues, oranges and reds highlighted these edible goods that were abundant in the region.

It was almost harvest time, which of course was Orion's favorite part of the changing seasons. Dark purple-grey clouds swirled above the head of the tsabhua as she glanced up, and immediately regretted it as a giant splash of water dropped straight between her eyes. Orion shook her head and blinked, and when her eyes re-opened there was a belemoid standing in front of her, startling her for a brief moment before she quickly composed herself. "Hello. Sandquill?" she gruffly asked. "Yep, you bet. Shall we make a move? I'm soaked through already!" the male belemoid replied in a friendly tone. Orion narrowed her eyes but nodded, allowing Sandquill to take the lead as they wound their way through the beaten path over the grassy plains of Mireh. "So, my first tip! If there are bugs nibbling around the berries and fruits, then most likely they're safe to collect and eat! If they're not eating them, we sure don't want to be!" Sandquill chirped as they walked at a leisurely pace. Orion refrained from rolling her eyes - for she, of course, already knew this but wanted to remain polite as she knew the belemoid only wished to help.

It was difficult to tell, but Orion was sure that the sun was at the highest point in the sky by the time the two xunari emerged at the Glittering Lake. The tsabhua had been here multiple times before, but the beauty never failed to take her breath away for a moment. Despite the gloomy, wet day the lake still maintained its rainbow coloring. The droplets of rain rippled off the almost oily-looking surface and Orion stood mesmerised for a second, before slightly shaking her head and turning to Sandquill for the next instruction. "Okay, so, you go collect stuff and I'll observe and give hints as needed?" he told her, and Orion agreed quickly. She wasted no time in trotting off towards a patch of bushes that carried orange berries. The tsabhua carefully inspected the leaves, and began gently plucking the ripe berries from the bush. Every now and again Orion intentionally paused to sniff some of the rotten or less ripe berries, choosing to leave them and move on. Sandquill nodded approvingly but remained quiet as he followed the female tsabhua as she moved onto different bushes.

Thankfully the storm had begun to let up as the high winds of the plains quickly brushed the storms higher into the atmosphere, allowing the dark clouds to clear and give way to blue-and-purple hued skies, and bringing the tropical warmth to the area. Orion sighed with contentment, ignoring Sandquill watching her, before turning her attention to a tree that had orange fruits adorned on it. She carefully stood on her hind legs to reach up and pick one of the fruits. The female flipped it over a few times in her paws before dropping back down and adding it to her pile of fruits and berries that she had been collecting for the afternoon. Sandquill smiled a friendly smile to her as he walked up. "Really great job, we can stop there for today if you would like?" he said politely, and Orion nodded. "Thank you, that sounds good to me" she replied bluntly. The native dipped his head and helped the tsabhua gather up the goodies that she had collected. Both Orion and Sandquill could not resist taking a couple of bites of their favorite berries, with the belemoid laughing softly as they did so. And then it was time for them to both return home.
