Crown confusedly held the small, round stone in her hands, twisting it around to see it shimmer in the light. It was beautiful.  Pale blue, with a darker blue shine to it that seemed to spin around as she tilted it back and forth in her hand.

"What'd you find, Crown?" Alter popped up from behind her, peeping over her shoulder. "Eh? Some rock? It looks nice- is it anything special?"

"Looks like a moonstone." Finn called over. "They're pretty rare- we should be able to sell it for a pretty penny. Great job, Crown!"

"Whoa! A moonstone!" Wait said, distractedly joining the other two. "That sounds so cool! Why is it called that, though? Is it magic?"

"Ah- well, no but-" Crown began, only to be interrupted by Alter’s excited voice.

"Is it called a moonstone because it reflects light like the moon?" Alter asked, looking over at the small stone in Crown's hand. "Look at how it shimmers! It's like there's something inside it, moving."

Wait squinted, leaning in closer to inspect the stone. "I’ve heard stories about these, but now that I'm older I'm pretty sure those were all just old tales. They’re not magic, just... minerals." He sounded almost disappointed, but Alter didn’t seem to care.

"I don’t know," Alter mused, watching the light swirl around inside the stone. "It feels special. Maybe it's not magic, but it sure is beautiful." He paused, then added, "What if it’s good luck?"

Crown frowned, looking at the small stone "Good luck? Like a lucky charm..? I'm not sure if I believe in those, to be honest... it seems like it's just a rock."

Finn chuckled from a few steps away, already busy packing up the rest of their finds from the day. "Don’t get too carried away with superstitions now. It’s a valuable stone, yes, but we should probably sell it and use the profits for supplies. Unless Crown wants to keep it, of course- it's up to her at the end of the day."

Alter frowned slightly, looking at the stone with a twinge of jealousy. "But it’s so pretty. Can’t we keep it? Just for a little while?"

"Ah- if you want it you can keep it. I don't really care, to be honest- surely we can find another to sell sometime."

Wait snorted "Of course you manage to charm your way into keeping it, Alter!"

Alter rolled his eyes at Wait "I mean, I'm not going to say no! Maybe I could have it made into a pretty necklace or something." He gently took the rock from Crown's hands.

"Plus, I feel I deserve it for helping you lot out throughout these trips!" Alter called out jokingly, making Wait roll his eyes.

"It can't have been that bad! Finn and Crown have still been doing all of the hard work, even *I* know that- you have mostly just been carrying equipment!"

Alter shrugged, awkwardly "Well- yea but I still would've preferred to be doing something else!"

Finn rolled her eyes "Well, c'mon then, back home we go- or else we'll have to leave you behind!"

Alter seemed shocked at that "What?! No, wait for me! C'mon guys, I'm not *that* upset!"

"Well, hurry up then!" Finn called out, already having started to head back out of the mines with one of the carts.

"It's been quite a long day." Crown muttered, handing Alter her pickaxe so he could carry it back.

Wait nodded as he followed her. "Must be dark outside already... Finn, did we get anything good today?"

Finn made a thoughtful noise "I mean, the moonstone of course." she slowed down some to let the group catch up to her "They really are quite rare, I think this might be the first time we've found one in a while."

"Well, Crown did a great job then!" Wait called out, reaching over to pat the Tsabhua on the back.

Alter nodded in agreement. "If even Finn hasn't found one of the moonstones yet they must be really rare- she's been mining for like- forever!"

Crown looked a bit flustered as the conversation went on "Well I'm sure I just got lucky- it could have been any one of us, really."

Wait rolled his eyes "You can just take the compliment, Crown, I promise!"

The discussion was cut short by Alter seeing the end of the mining tunnel, daylight shining into the cavern "Ah! Finally! Daylight!"
