Accidentally left behind by his tribe at an early age, Sam had to learn quickly how to take care of himself in the wide fields of Mireh.  Self-sufficient to a fault and a bit wary of strangers, it took time for him to trust the ZAG-15 colonists who encountered him, injured in a fight for prey by members of a different tribe, when they were searching the region for a lost cargo delivery.

Sam was eventually won over, though, and returned with the group to Rekes in the end.  The cold mountains are unfamiliar to him, but he is determined to be of use to the colony which has taken him in.

Personality

Honest to a fault; at times blunt, can be a bit unintentionally insensitive to other's feelings with his honesty.  Doesn't really get "white lies" or like to use them.  Eminently practical; prefers tactile methods of problem solving, and believes in what he can feel and see.  This makes him not particularly spiritual, but also had him doubting the existence of DPIP and other off-worlders somewhat before he met aliens.
