As soon as she realized how nice of a day it was out today, [[Fawn]] had decided to head out for a walk. She loved walks on days like these, especially because most of the colony would be taking it easy, meaning she could probably convince someone to tag along.

 

She quickly decided to ask Roam to come along, the choice feeling obvious to her as Roam was easily her best friend. When she found Roam, she noticed he seemed to be mid conversation with one of the younger whelps, Crimson Crown. As soon as Roam noticed her, he perked up a little "Oh hi Fawn! We were just talking about how Crown wants to go on a walk- I just suggested we go with you, since you've always loved walks like this."

 

Fawn smiled- it was always nice to know your friends cared enough to know your interests- and nodded "I was about to ask you to go on a walk anyways, I don't mind Crown coming along." Roam smiled back at her "That's settled then, let's go!"

A bit into their walk Fawn started hearing someone else's footsteps. She frowned, making sure to call Crown closer to her, not wanting the whelp to somehow step on the stranger's toes. Eventually she spotted another Tsabhua trough some tall mushrooms.

 

They seemed like a regular passer by, just minding their own business, so she gave the whelp a gentle nod and let her run off again before turning to Roam

 

"Have you met them before?" she asked, being unfamiliar with the mostly white Tsabhua.

 

Roam shook his head "Never seen em before today. We can go say hi though? They don't seem to be doing much, so I'm sure they won't really mind." Fawn nodded her head, leading the way with Crown still running around them both, occasionally pretending to sneak up on them.

 

"Hey there!" roam was first to call out, from behind Fawn, making the stranger look up and around, probably not having noticed the trio before.

 

"Oh! Hi there!" the stranger didn't seem to have their guard up very high, which was a good thing to Fawn. She probably wouldn't have care had she been alone, or alone with Roam, but she didn't want to potentially scare Crown by introducing her to a rude passer by when the whelp was still so young.

 

"How do you do?" Fawn chimed in, more than happy to have a pleasant little chat with the stranger. She had always been more social, which was also how she met Blue. Now wasn't really the time to reconcile on memories, though.

 

They went back and forth with regular small talk for a while, finding out the stranger was called Gideon and was roaming around L'hatzif for a while now and then talking for a bit about the colony the trio were from, untill Crown zoomed up to the trio of adults and instantly decided that she had some observations that could simply not be left unanswered to.

 

"Hello! You look just like my friend, Koi." the whelp chittered, surprising the other Tsabhua who probably had not yet noticed the whelp who had been running around before, practising pouncing on unsuspecting bugs and sticks. Roam looked at Fawn for a bit, knowing that Crown could be quite, ah, out of pocket but the two both shrugged it off.

 

Gideon chuckled at the whelp "Ah, I see. I don't know anyone called Koi, I'm afraid." Crown gave him a suspicious look, raising her little eyebrow comically far. "Then how come you look like Koi?"

 

Gideon stood around awkwardly, looking at Roam and Fawn for help who just kind of shrugged nonchalantly. 

 

"Ah I uh- I'm not sure, lil fella." Gideon placed a gentle hand on the whelp's head, ruffling the fur "Maybe we're related in some way? Like I said, I've never met this Koi."

 

Crown didn't back down at that, looking at Gideon with wide eyes "Related so you're Koi's dad- errrr mum?" too stunned to reply, Crown seemed to take that as a 'yes' and instantly got excited "That's so cool!!! I didn't know Koi even *had* a mum. She's gonna be so happy to see you!"

 

Gideon tried their best to shake off their confusion "uh, no little fella, Im not this Koi's 'mum', I'm really not sure who she is, even." but Crown had already drawn her conclusion, and was not about to be persuaded of anything else. "C'mon Koi's mum!! You should come back with us, Koi's gonna be so excited to finally meet you, I promise!"

 

Fawn finally stepped in at this- gently reaching for the whelp "I don't think Gideon is Koi's mum, Crown." but again, the whelp was simply not having it- at all. "C'monnn. Koi's gonna be so happy! Pleeease Gideon?"

 

Gideon shook her head- "I was uh- on my way to somewhere, so I can't join you, unfortunately." she looked at Roam and Fawn "But I mean, I might visit sometimes if that's okay?"

 

Fawn and Roam nodded kindly "We'd love to have you anytime!" Crown seemed to have already forgotten she had assigned Gideon a new whelp, having spotted a suspicious stick off to the side she would rather hunt down. 

 

after another short conversation, Fawn and Roam waved their goodbyes as everyone went on their own path again, Crown excitedly carrying around the twig she had been "hunting" all the way home.
