Constellations of Xiunus, pt1
Unofficial worldbuilding concept for a few constellations!
Leviathan: Said to depict a Leviathan mid-strike. In the Issiq region, this constellation is usually called the Tolaat instead. The "head" of the constellation (the rightmost star) is useful for navigating West during the colder months of the year. In some stories, the Warrior is hunting this beast.
The Prince: The name of this constellation has been a mystery for many years. It depicts a winged tark'ee. In some stories, it is hunting Akuaari, as it seems to follow Akuaari across the sky.
The Four Sisters: In some belemoid cultures, the story of the first four-whelp litter states that they were all female. The firstborn (leftmost star) was adventurous, the secondborn (second from the left) was patient, the thirdborn (second from the right) was fierce, and the lastborn (rightmost star) was very sick but still loved deeply by her sisters and their parents. The lastborn sister is often covered up by one of the moons.
Akuaari: The fish. Akuaari remains fixed in the sky year round, rotating slowly around its "nose" at the top. It is mostly used for navigation, especially for coastal and sea-dwelling Xiunari.
The Warrior: Said to depict a Tsabhua warrior with its arms outstretched, either as a declaration of victory and valor or in battle. Some tsabhua cultures say that it is defending the rest of the sky from the tyranny of the Leviathan.
The Spear: Sometimes associated with the Warrior. Always points towards the lastborn Sister, and is sometimes said to be the spear that would have killed her frozen in the stars by her three protective older sisters.
