Moon Stone silently walked through the underground jungle. Kel had told her about it but it was still amazing to see. The low lights above were just enough to illuminate the room but it made the trees and shrubs cast long shadows. Moon Stone wondered how it was possible to grow plants in such light.

" Oh wow! Look at that tree and those vines. " Bunsen said as she walked alongside her friend Moon Stone. Kel didn't like Moon Stone going alone into the bunker so she had volunteered.

"You mean the one Kel warned us about. Remember don't touch any of the plants if you can help it.

Just as Moon Stone gave her warning, one of the bushes moved and out walked Kanene and Jack.

"We found the way to the flooded area. " Jack called out. Moon Stone and Bunsen had met these two while they were searching the area and had decided that four was better than two.

"That's great!" Bunsen said as she rushed over to where Jake and Kanene had emerged. Moon Stone, just as excited as Bunsen, also rushed over. She had noticed that the bush that Jake and Kanene had seemed to be safe. She took out a small glass vial from her pouch and pinched a small portion of the bush and placed the sample in the vial. She would look at it later in the lab.

Kanene and Jake lead the other two deeper into the jungle. They came to a section of the wall where it looked like someone had cleared off the vines and moss from a door. Moon Stone noticed that the floor infront of the door was scraped clean like it had been opened recently.

Before anyone could stop him, Jack tugged on the handle and the door opened soundlessly.

"Jack, next time please wait. Something could have been behind that door and you could have gotten hurt." Kanene admonished as she peered into the empty hallway.

"Yes mom." Jack muttered then stepped around Kanene and proceeded down the hall. Kanene walked in after him. Moon Stone and Bunsen quickly followed. The lights in the tunnel Flickered and in places they had failed altogether leaving patches of darkness. Because of this the two Belemoid's took lead. Moon Stone found herself having to go around debris the farther they went. With Jack's help Moon Stone was able to guide Bunsen and Kanene when the sections lights were out. They came to a spot where the hallway opened up into a much bigger room. Items were strewn around the room. This must be the spot where the Tark'ee lived. Jack and Bunsen started to search through the items but they didn't find much. It seemed that the Tark'ee took everything that was remotely valuable.

"I found another door." Moon Stone said from where she and Kanene stood. This door was opened already and the hallway seemed to go deeper down. The lights in this hallway were all out except for a few flickering ones. Bunsen took out a flashlight she had in her pack and flicked it on.

"We could have used that in the tunnel back there. " Jack said as he pointed to the other hallway.

"It has a limited battery, I didn't want to use it unless we absolutely needed it. " Bunsen shot back.

"Good thinking." Moonstone said. Then she walked into the hallway. Followed by Jack. Kanene followed and Bunsen was in the rear holding the flash light up. The light cast long shadows of the colonist in front. The shadows of the debris was long and dark and it made determining if there was anything in front of them a threat.

"Careful. It's wet. " Moonstone called back. They walked on in silence. Bunsen swung the light around so that they could see into all the corners. But all they found was more water.

"Looks like a dead end. " Jack called out. "It's all flooded."

Bunsen splashed over to him and swept her flash light over the waters. A book shelf was half submerged in water and a red spherical bottle bobbed in the water.

"Well that's interesting," Kanene said. "There is grate just below the surface. I thought I saw something.

Bunsen panned the light once again. The bookshelf and the red bottle bobbing in the water then just like Kanene said the very top of a grate peeked out of the water. As the light passed by and the area became dark again. Two red dots blinked on like a pair of eyes.

"What do you suppose that was?" Jake said.

"I don't know but we can't go any farther until all this water is gone. There must be some way to drain it. " Moon stone said. Bunsen was still panning the flashlight.

"Does that look like a panel?" Bunsen said. She wiggled the light to help the others see what she was looking at.

Moon Stone and Kanene splashed over to where the light was pointing.

"It sure looks like it. If it still has power maybe we can figure out what it does. " Kanene said.

"I am going to see if I can see what those eyes are. " Jack said. Kanene spun around to tell him no but he had already dove in with a splash. She turned back to the panel and she and Moonstone started testing buttons while Bunsen held the light so that they could see better.
