As shocked as they all were, it pales in comparison to the revelation that sits behinds Kanene's pleased figure. Not only was that wall hiding something, it was hiding a room filled to the brim with electronics and panels and all manner of do-dads that must've once been a larger cog in the drainage machine. Many of the screen faces are busted or glitching, and quite a number of buttons seem partially torn from their consoles that bear scars of what Coriander can only assume to have been lasting damages from those poor orphaned and abandoned tark'ee they'd seen disappear into the wilds. Jack lets out a delighted little hum, clapping his hands together as Stryx stands next to Kanene, the pair of them oggling at the 'explosives' that now sit completely dead and gone in their hands.

"Wonder if this was a control room at one point," Coriander murmurs aloud, tracing his nails over the console faces that flicker and buzz in response to the contact. Maybe once, a long time ago, they might've responded with a welcoming chime and asked for verification or command inputs that could get them somewhere more substantial. Now, though, they're ghosts of their former selves, skeletons clinging to life with only wires to pump artificial blood through their faulty frames. "Or maybe an intercom center?" He questions, but Stryx just rolls her eyes and plays with a few of the knobs that groan and squeal in response.

"Don't go getting all sappy over some robotics, Cori." She says with disdain, decidedly done with the consoles in favor of rummaging around in the open husks where any manner of critter could be hiding. "Not like they even know we're here. Wherever here is."

Jack frowns at this, seemingly sharing Coriander's distress that this could've been such a vibrant place at one point in time. Kanene pats Coriander's shoulder. "Maybe they can still be of use if we find the right one, doll." She gestures with a free hand to the rest of the chamber. "Plenty of them to go looking at. You start here, I'll go on the opposite side and see if we can get anything to say hello to us."

"What about me?" Jack asks, and Stryx makes no effort to insert herself into this hopeless endeavor.

"See if you can patch anything up, make sure things are plugged in, and let us know if anythin' starts smokin'." Ah. That's probably smart. Coriander itches his throat before nodding in agreement and together, they all begin working on their designated tasks. With any luck, they've be one step closer to finding out the truth of this horrid place, and one step closer in being able to go home. All adventures have to end one way or another, and Coriander can only hope for the best outcome for himself, Jack, Kanene and Stryx-- regardless of how they might feel about working with each other, and towards the shared goal between them.

With a sigh, he begins the arduous task ahead, and the sound of static fills the otherwise quiet chamber with the breath of electricity and shifting metals.
