Two belemoids walked along together across the grassy lands that were littered between the mountains of Rekes. The sun was held high in the sky, unusual for the mid-Geshem season that was upon them which was usually known for its raging tropical storms. Sunlight bounced off the dark onyx mountains, leaving glows of light on the grass tips and speckles in the air from the dust and sand that brushed off the seas that were at the edges of Rekes. Imiria and Talisai were young and spritely, and despite the fact that the region was their native home - it was still all new to them. The blue female scanned the grasses in front of them, looking out for the tsabhua who was supposed to be overseeing their gathering session and training them - a native called Falkor.

"Imiria, is that them?" a whisper came, shortly after a prod in the belemoids ribs. She yelped in response and glared at the male reef belemoid - who had been grumpy at being so far away from the water. However, Imiria glanced to where Talisai was pointing and her eyes landed on a rust colored male who was picking berries off a sparse bush. She nodded silently, as the two young whelps approached the much older native. "Hello, excuse me, are you… Falkor?" Talisai chirped shyly, and he cowered away when the tsabhua turned around. He grunted at them, flicking his tail and beckoning them to follow as he walked off.

The belemoids looked puzzled but rushed after him. Falkor slowed his tracks and glanced back "Run along then young ones, you know the task I hope? I'll be here if you have any concerns or questions" he gruffly instructed them, and Imiria looked at Talisai with apprehension in her gaze. But the male belemoid nodded confidently and trotted off, Imiria following with no hesitation. They continued around the edge of a mountain, trying to avoid going too close to the coastal beaches - Imiria knew that there were some abundant meadowland foothills with herbs and flowers. It was just a case of finding them. The belemoids continued for a while, with Falkor keeping up a few paces behind them - not too close but not too far. He seemed to be more of the… trial and error, silent type teacher. Talisai was enthusiastic enough to take charge and Imiria was glad that the male was with her.

After some time, Imiria gasped and nudged the reef belemoid, nudging to a passageway that looked like it could lead to one of the foothills she was hoping to find. "Nice catch!" Talisai chirped, and their footsteps dipped into the grooves that carved out the passageway. For a few moments, they walked with onyx walls closing into them, with some areas of the passageway brushing extremely close to their young whelp fur - it was a good job that the tsabhua following them has such long legs and good manoeuvrability - but they emerged into a meadow at the foothill of one of the larger mountains in the Rekes area. There were no trees, and there were sparse bushes, but that was not what they had anticipated finding here. What they were here for were the bright pink flowers that littered the ground in front of them, and the patches of herbs - some chose the shadier parts, much closer to the mountains edges, whilst others thrived in the heat of the sun.

Imiria and Talisai glanced at Falkor, who just nodded at them and the two belemoids sprinted off to investigate the herbs and flowers. The blue belemoids went to one of the shadier herbs, sniffing it gently and wrinkling her nose. "I don't think this is any good?" she called to the native. Falkor walked over and took a look at the herbs. "Very good, we don't have any use for these - although I am sure some researchers will manage to make some use of it at some point… but we can leave this for now" he grunted to her, but Imiria could tell that he was impressed. Talisai and Imiria continued to sniff, investigate and pick herbs and flowers from the meadow until the sun began its descent back down the sky.

"Okay young'uns, let's finish up here" Falkor called to them, clearly eager to return to his home. Imiria and Talisai bounced over to him, clearly having not lost any energy despite their lessons and investigations for the day. They both grinned at Falkor as he inspected their gatherings, nodded and grunting in approval. "We'll make some good gatherers out of you two eventually" he praised them both shortly, as the belemoids carefully put away their brightly colored flowers and pungent herbs to take home. "I'm never gonna get this bitter taste out of my mouth" Talisai grumbled, earning himself a glare from the tsabhua. Imiria just laughed as the trio left the foothills through the same passageway they entered in.
