The purple-tinted sky was heavy with thick clouds as Imiria made her way up the narrow passageway located in the north-east of the deep onyx mountains that are known in the Rekes region of Xiunus. Every now and again the wind whipped up and howled around the belemoid, warning of the typical storms that brewed in this tropical region during Mid-Geshem. Heading through the passageway, pads brushing the cool damp stone beneath her claws, Imiria looked around as the clearing in the mountains opened up - this was her home, the home of the colony Astraia.

Imiria was fairly new here, as was the colony itself. The researcher in charge? Well, nobody really knew who they were yet either. The colony had decided to settle within a conveniently carved out section of the mountains in the Rekes region in the north-east, close to the coastline - which was convenient for the reef belemoid Talisai who belonged to the colony. Buildings were beginning to show up, although they were still mostly half built or even just a rough outline of where they were going to sit. Most of them were offset into the mountains, which would be convenient when the cold Kerah season moved in.

The cream-russian colored belemoid stretched and wiggled her toes, digging her claws into the soil that littered parts of the clearing. It was a little unusual, but there were areas of the clearing that had somehow managed to sprout soils and grasses - which would prove helpful for their farming. Although they could also move down the mountains some, just before they reached the coastal beach, for even more fertile land. In fact, Imiria had been the one to unintentionally discover the additional farming land! Which just shows that the colony was quite satisfied with what was available to them in the clearing as it was.

Imiria nodded a greeting to the other Astraian colonists, glancing around at the progress in front of her. Small shelters had been built for the current colonist members, though these were only temporary until proper housing could be constructed within the carved out walls of the mountains. The main building was almost complete though - a mixture of woods and metals indicated a building to the north of the main colony area, and although it looked small on the outside it was plenty large on the inside - this was supposedly where their researcher resided, and where colonists could report to after their events around Rekes and the rest of Xiunus.

The female belemoid backed up again towards the passageway, but this time headed more east - leading down a winding path. As rock turned to soil, Imiria flicked her tail happily and trotted on further, reaching sand before long. There was a small coastal cove not far from the mountain clearing - which also had evidence of the beginning of construction. After all, any of the ocean-loving colonists would much prefer to be close to the ocean than in the generally dry mountain clearing - that is, when the storms are not dumping water on everyone. And as if right on cue, the sky darkened and large water droplets fell from the sky.

Imiria flattened her ears, but continued her walk around the beached area. She made her way towards the ocean, glancing out at the small islands that broke off from Rekes. The belemoid knew if she swam far enough, she could see and even reach the Issiq region. However, she didn’t understand how anyone could want to be stuck in the desert or badlands. And with that, the belemoid turned around to return to the clearing - after all, a colony cannot build itself. There was still a lot of work left to make Astraia her home.
