The next hallway seemed a lot longer than the one before that. Alter would have sighed in annoyance, had he not been underwater. Considering the circumstances, it felt like a bad idea, though.

This hallway was longer, and strangely zig-zag-y. At first, Alter had struggled to make his way trough it, bumping into walls in the dark, seeing as most lamps must've gone out when the building flooded. A few remained on, making Alter wonder if maybe the strange building had been designed to withstand these kind of conditions- although it would be weird to build an entire bunker just to flood it.

He eventually surfaces, tossing the rope over a support beam in the ceiling. He looked around for a bit. While this didn't quite seem like the end of a hallway, the small space to breathe meant it'd be an easy resting spot, especially with the support beams to hang off of an rest one's legs. He tied the rope to the beam, waiting for Fero'hart to follow.

Fero eventually surfaces next to him, gasping for air as he grabbed the support beam that Alter had been hanging off of. It creaked in complaint, but Alter couldn't see or hear any signs of it giving out.

Fero'hart frowned. "We're not there yet? This hallway has been going on for ages."

Alter nodded. "Sorry about that. I thought the rest stop would be good for you, and I didn't have the rest of the rope." he had already taken the rope off of Fero'hart, and was tying it to the support beam, next to the old rope. "Maybe we can dive the next bit together- I'll hold the rope, and you just swim ahead of me."

Fero seemed hesitant. "I mean- if you're sure we'll be alright."

Alter shrugged him off. "As alright as we have been. I'm hoping we reach another dry hallway soon, and then we should be alright."

Fero'hart took a deep breath to steady his nerves "here goes nothing, I guess." he said, to nobody in particular, and then dived down.

He struggle quite a bit navigating the tunnels, but it seemed to have straightened out now, curving slightly to the left. Lucky for the two, the hallway wasn't much longer, and eventually started slowly curving up until the water wasn't much of an issue anymore. The hallway didn't raise enough to be entirely dry, meaning both colonists still had to swim, but at least they could now safely breathe.

"Should we tie the rope here for now?" Fero asked, hesitantly. "it doesn't seem like this tunnel gets much higher, so I think this is the best we'll get for now."

Alter looked into the tunnel, a few occasional lights still working here, and shrugged. "Might as well, I suppose. It looks like this goes on for quite a bit"

Sighing, the two went on, swimming trough abandoned tunnels. it seemed like they had quite a bit to go before finding anything of interest.
